Hour 35 - Going to Bed with Edd

Edd finally awoke just before his show began at 8pm to host in Smoke's usual studios.

Just like last year Edd was rounding off another successful 'Marathon Broadcast'. He was joined by Doctor Lovell and had a competition between Team Sleepy and Team Awake and they either tried to make us tired or wake us up respectively.

Unfortunately Team Sleepy won the battle.

Me and Frosty stayed the full 35 hours and fully deserved our beds after that mammoth shift.

Thank you to everyone who listened, or came down to support us or who has read this blog.
We couldn't have done it without any of you.

Well done to all the presenters and producers and everyone behind the scenes who put on such a great event.

Viva la Smoke Radio.

Hour 34 - The Brainlokk MC Show

I was really worried that I would be hosting the Brainlokk MC show as Brainlokk was held up talking to the UWSU election candidates. He showed up just after 8pm though and played some great music from the likes of Nate Dogg and even some Craig David.

The show also featured the premiere of Brainlokk's newest track with the singer Hannah K called 'The Inside'.

Although me and Sam Foster have been here for thirty four hours now, my dedication award goes to Brainlokk as he is giving up the chance to watch the first half of the England - Ghana game at Wembley.

Here's hoping that they let him in at half time.

Only 1 more to go!!

Hour 33 - The AA Show

Anton Clark joined us for Hour 33 for an hour with the AA Show. He played the best of new music as well as chatting about all the tracks as well. He even managed to drop in some Charlie Sheen dubstep for me and Sam Foster to keep us awake.

Edd was well and truly resting up for his show now and completely missed Anton's show which was a shame.

It didn't faze fellow Essex boy Anton though as he put in a great show and made way for Brainlokk in Hour 34.

Only 2 more hours to go!!

Hour 32 - The Urban Lockdown Show

Tyrone Francis had his Urban Lockdown show for Hour 32 in the Marathon Broadcast.

The show which is fast becoming one of the most popular shows saw Tyrone celebrate the best of Urban music for an hour and was only an hour early of when the show normally goes out; on the Smoke Radio schedule.
.
Sam Foster was still hanging around for Hour 32 and he and I only had a few more hours left.

Only 3 more hours to go!!

Hour 31 - Frosty's Folk Jam

Frosty's Folk Jam returned in spectacular fashion today. Sam Foster aka is one of the two remaining originals - he started the broadcast off in Hour 1 and was back with a folk jam.

An abiding memory of the show will have to be Maggie's Farm by Bob Dylan, and if you like that song then you'll have loved Frosty's show.

Someone who was far too mellow for the music was Edd Cross, who was trying to catch fourty winks before his show at 8pm tonight. He was joined by Jacqui Ravensdale who wanted a picture with him.

The party is almost over for Smoke Radio.

Only 4 more hours to go!!

Hour 30 - Gentleman's Hour: Presents Hard Talk

Regular 'Gentleman' and 'Hard' talker Luke Beckett was ill today, but was suitably replaced by John Cadigan and Massimo Paradiso for Hour 30.

John and Massimo were joined by regular hosts Will Kisby and Bill Leuty as they spent an hour letting people into the Hard Talk: Hall of Fame.

John suggested Torquay defender Guy Branston, while Massimo elected Sir Ranulf Feinnes; and Branston and Feinnes soon found themselves among the luminaries of the Hard Talk: Hall of Fame.

This show like Signal has taken a little break from the schedule, but may I be the first to argue the case for it to come back permanently.

Only 5 more hours to go!!

Hour 29 - The World Music Show

World Music with John Cadigan took over Hour 29 of Smoke Radio's Marathon Broadcast. The show which normally goes out on Sunday's was live today as John came in all the way from Milton Keynes for this one hour World music extravaganza.

Bill Leuty who is a massive fan of the show hung around the studios dancing and bopping around to the music.

Only 6 more hours to go!!
